Search for Missing ‘Glory’ Leads to Unexpected Reunion and Adoptions for Look-a-Like Black Cats

When one enters the life of animal rescue, it’s almost as if there’s a spotlight shown on their heroic efforts. And it seems to light the path for animals to seemingly find their way to them. Yet the best rescuers never know just what to expect. So when the search for a missing black cat named Glory led to saving three cats and a heartwarming reunion, it was as if it was guided from above.

The story begins with with a woman named Violet. She was staying at an Airbnb with her two beloved black kitties, Nas and Nia. But tragedy struck when she was hit by a car in New York City, lost her phone, and couldn’t return to her cats!

Fortunately, Violet recovered from the accident after surgery. However, when she didn’t return to the Airbnb, the host surrendered the kitties to New York City Animal Control. It’s likely possible the host thought that Violet had abandoned the cats, yet ideally there’s an emergency contact for these situations. Regardless, Violet very much wanted a reunion with her beloved felines.

Now at the city shelter, Nas and Nia may have never seen their mom again. Then, the story took an ameowzing twist! Without knowing anything about Violet or her cats, an animal rescuer on another mission happened to save the day for this separated family.

While Nas and Nia remained at the Animal Control, a rescuer you’re probably familiar with, Beth Stern, was out looking for a missing cat. More accurately, she and others were frantically searching for a lost black cat with golden eyes named Glory.

The cute black cat went missing somewhere in Manhattan after being adopted on Super Bowl Sunday. Stern asked followers in New York to help search for her and put up flyers, which were oddly removed by unknown parties.

In the meantime, she found a look-alike house panther to foster and named her Glory B. Stern called her a “velvety slice of Heaven,” thankfully saved from freezing cold temperatures at the time.

Not long afterward, the pretty house panther Glory B found her furever home.

“Glory B… perfect perfect girl. ” Stern shared.

Meanwhile, the search continued for Glory, last seen in a building under construction.

That’s when rescuers found Nas and Nia, pulling them from the city shelter in the hopes one was their long lost Glory. Alas, Beth did finally learn of her outcome, it was not a positive one for the missing feline. But while their original hopes of a reunion were dashed, these beautiful black cats were just as needing of rescue.

So although the story had a sad ending for Glory, the search for her led to saving another kitty, plus an incredible reunion for Violet, Nas, and Nia! (see video below)

“Remember Glory, who went missing a few weeks ago? Sadly, we finally learned the truth, and her story ended tragically. My heart broke, and I’m still trying to move on,” shared Stern. “

However, while we were frantically searching for her, we called all the local vet hospitals and shelters. The local ACC got 2 black cats admitted that week so I pulled them immediately in hopes one was Glory. Neither were Glory, but do watch this and listen to this amazing story. If it weren’t for us looking for Glory, I fear this ending wouldn’t have been this joyful for these 2 beautiful kitties and their human.”

Thus, the efforts to save one missing cat ended up saving three cats and touched innumerable human lives. Although Violet was sure she’d never see her babies again, now they’re together and making up for lost time.

North Shore Animal League America called it an “almost unbelievable story of resilience, perseverance, and happiness.”
