More Coopers are appearing in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage‘s Thanksgiving episode. On the heels of the Young Sheldon finale, Montana Jordan and Emily Osment will keep The Big Bang Theory franchise going with their own spinoff. Born out of the best original arc from Sheldon’s prequel series, the sequel offshoot will focus on the pair, as they deal with raising Baby Cece and their relationship. Mandy’s family, the McAllisters, will fill the extended cast of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, but the Coopers will still have a presence, with some familiar faces making an appearance.
In a new video from Annie Potts on Instagram, Mary, Missy, Meemaw, and Dale are all confirmed to return for Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage‘s Thanksgiving episode. Watch the clip below:
In the video, the cast of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, including Rachel Bay Jones and Will Sasso as Audrey and Jim hang out in the McAllister kitchen. As it moves, Zoe Perry, Raegan Revord, and Craig T. Nelson can be seen as well, as they reprise their respective roles with Potts during a live studio taping of the show.
Why The Coopers Visit Georgie & Mandy This Upcoming Thanksgiving
The McAllisters Are Better Off Hosting Thanksgiving This Year
\Young Sheldon didn’t do many holiday-themed episodes. Even with Mary being a devout Christian, the show didn’t really celebrate Christmas. Given this, having a Thanksgiving episode for Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is a good change. Still, it’s unclear why the Coopers need to celebrate the occasion with the McAllisters when Mary and Missy still live in Sheldon’s childhood home just across town. The reason is likely because of George’s unexpected death. With Sheldon out of town and the family still grieving, Mary may not be particularly excited about the upcoming holiday, even though Missy is with her.
The behind-the-scenes video features the cast having fun during the break in filming, but expect that there will be some kind of snafu during the upcoming Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s holiday episode.
This prompts Georgie and Mandy to invite the Coopers to Thanksgiving. Since the McAllisters are better off financially, they are able to host an additional four more people for their holiday meal. Despite not living with her daughter, Meemaw and Dale, understandably, also get invited, considering how much she’s done for Georgie, Mandy, and Baby Cece. Our Take On Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s First Thanksgiving Episode
It’s Great To See Mary & Meemaw Back
It’s always good to see the Cooper family after Young Sheldon ended. Before Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s story was confirmed, I was adamant that CBS just rebranded the original show to The Coopers and continued with its storytelling format. In any case, Sheldon was no longer the center of its attention. That said, Chuck Lorre and his team wanted to do something different, resulting in the multi-cam that is Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
\Beyond this episode, however, I’m curious if we’ll see Meemaw and Mary again. Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage already expanded Missy’s role, which means that she will appear in more outings moving forward. However, it would be better if Georgie’s grandmother and mother got more involved in the sequel.
