Fans don’t have much longer to wait before learning whether Vigo County school janitor Richard Goodall will win “America’s Got Talent” and take home the $1 million prize.
Goodall, a Terre Haute native, has had a run of impressive ’80s rock performances on the NBC competition show, earning a Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum and stealing fans’ hearts during his very first Season 19 appearance performing Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
After Goodall bookended his time on the show by covering another Journey hit on the Sept. 17 live finals show, fans got the chance to vote on whom they want to see crowned winner. Here’s what you need to know about the Sept. 24 finale of “America’s Got Talent.”
When is the AGT finale?
The results for Season 19 will air Sept. 24. After a one-hour countdown special beginning at 8 p.m. ET, results will be read during a two-hour special beginning at 9 p.m.

Judge Heidi Klum, who has supported Goodall since his audition, said that the humble, kind janitor may have a quiet presence, but he becomes a “big rock star” behind the mic.
“Richard, I have been faithfully your biggest fan since the very, very first day we met, all the way through this competition,” she said. “I want you to win this so bad, Richard!”
Howie Mandel made a bold prediction: “I think you just sang yourself $1 million.”
Will Neal Schon and Journey perform on America’s Got Talent?
Schon and members of Journey are expected to appear on the Sept. 24 finale, NBC announced last week. Other celebrities expected to appear are Steve Aoki, Gabriel Iglesias, Andra Day (who stars in Netflix’s “The Deliverance,” based on an Indiana haunting) and Simone Biles and the Gold Over America Tour.
